How to Make Money with Survey and Poll Web Sites

We are in the middle of the most historic Presidential election ever! The Republicans and Democrats are raking in millions upon millions of dollars for their parties to have their leader claim the golden prize of Presidency! Now is not the time for you to sit on the sidelines and watch how everything plays out… now is the time for you to cash in!
I’m sure plenty of you have come across various Presidential campaigns on many affiliate networks and their banners spread across all news sites and social networks. Using these campaigns and the power of the press, you too can fatten your wallet as the debates heat up.
Here are just a few of the Presidential offers available across the networks:

Who do you Support? (Amped Media, $1.50 cpa)
Now that we have an ideas on the offers available, you will need to focus on how to drive traffic and convert these media frenzy audiences into leads. No problem, I already did that for you! One of the best ways to bring in low cost traffic and convert them into leads, is through a survey/poll site. Using surveys to generate leads is nothing new, but I will break down the process for you and show you how easy and effective it is.
Step 1: Find something that everyone is talking about!
Ever since John McCain brought in Sarah Palin as Vice President, the media hasn’t stopped covering it. To stir up the tabloids and news even more, Oprah Winfrey doesn’t want to have Sarah Palin on her talk show, since she endorses Barack Obama. This is a perfect example of how you can use these two events in your favor.
Step 2: Create a survey/poll landing page.
Using the two hot topics above, I created a simple landing page to bring the visitor to action, having them vote on their decision. Instead of just writing “Should Oprah have Sarah Palin on her show?“, I wrote “Is Oprah Abusing her Power by Not Having Sarah Palin on “Oprah”?“. Not only is the wording more exciting, but it grabs the user’s attention and if you are a fan of Oprah or Sarah, you will want to give your opinion and make your voice heard.
There is really nothing that special about this landing page. Make sure you have a clean design and to the point. I also enticed the visitor to place a vote, by adding “BONUS: Vote Now & Qualify to Receive a Free Gift Card!“. (This can vary depending on your backend offer) The “YES!” or “NO!” is a simple text link, that the user would click to place their vote. Again, this is very simple, and depending on the time and effort you put into this, you can make it more advanced or even collect user data for yourself or a newsletter.
Create survey landing pages that will make the user want to vote!
Step 3: Finding your backend offer
In this example, I’m focusing only on Presidential campaigns, so refer back to any of the ad campaigns listed above. Once the user clicks on YES/NO, their vote would be counted and you can send them off to the confirmation page. You can either setup your own landing page and pass the user onto the offer, or pass them directly to the offer. Make sure you check on marketing options available for the campaign before promoting.
Once the user votes, you can pass them off to a survey offer for their reward.
Step 4: Promotions and getting traffic
Now that you have created your landing page and your confirmation page setup, you are ready to go. The best way to generate targeted low cost traffic would be through Google Adwords and other search engines (content network). In addition to using TEXT ad campaigns on Adwords, I would also recommend setting up some IMAGE ad campaigns. There are a lot of blogs and news web sites that are running Google Adsense and if your campaigns get picked up you could see some nice traffic. If you are seeing good numbers, you can even start buying direct links of news/celebrity sites/blogs.
Step 5: Tweaking and watching your numbers
The last step of making money with surveys/polls and news is to continually tweak your landing pages to try and get the best conversions. Don’t put all of your traffic to one offer, the reason I listed so many presidential campaigns above is because they all will convert differently. See what works best with your traffic.
This concept is not just limited to Presidential campaigns, however with all of the attention towards the election right now, and the availability of targeted offers, its a perfect fit. Through out the year you can create new surveys towards news, movies or celebrities… depending on what’s hot.

ReplyIn your example you are incentivizing the offer. Most email and zips don’t allow incentives. This is a great way to get your readers banned from the network or from the advertiser.

If you want to cash in with these, you have to go for the entertainment topics, like “who is more of a slut, paris or britney?”. seriously.
Because of the Sarah Palin thing, this might not be a bit better than usual, however.
